- You are online and connected to the internet.
- You have a working Accounting Package and you are able to access the data you wish to upload within the Accounting Package.
- Your Sage 300 package must have a valid license file.
- You know the SQL User ID and Password that can access the Sage 300 database you wish to upload. (LedgerShare Connect will attempt to use Windows authentication to connect to the database if you do not enter any credentials on the user details screen).
You may need to ask your IT department for some of the above information.
To begin the upload process using LedgerShare Connect you need to be logged in to the LedgerShare portal.
From within the LedgerShare portal choose the Engagement for which you wish to upload data.
Once the appropriate engagement is selected, select Upload.
If enabled, you will select either Month End Reconciliation or Audit/Survey as the Upload Scope.
Choose the Accounting Package from the drop-down menu. You can type in the search bar to locate the Accounting Package quicker.
When the correct Accounting Package is selected click the Continue button.
Click Download on the Download LedgerShare Connect window.
Click here if you are using Google Chrome
Click here if you are using Firefox
Click here if you are using Microsoft Edge/Explorer
This will start the download of the LedgerShare Connect setup application. Your browser will show the download progress. Depending on your desktop setup you may encounter some security warnings that you need to acknowledge during the installation.
Once the LedgerShare Connect application installs it will begin connecting to your Accounting Package. The LedgerShare Connect package is quite small and will be automatically removed from your desktop once the upload process has been completed.
LedgerShare Connect for Sage 300 AccPac
Once installed, the LedgerShare Connect application will automatically launch and will attempt to locate and identify your Sage 300 installation.
LedgerShare connect will automatically determine which Sage 300 databases are available for extraction.
Select the Organisation that holds the data you wish to upload from the drop-down list and click Next.
Enter the correct SQL User Login and Password for the database you have selected then click Next. You may have to connect with your IT team to get this information.
If you leave the User Login and Password Fields blank LedgerShare Connect will attempt to connect to the chosen database using your windows credentials.
If any of these details are incorrect an error will be displayed and you will be invited to re-enter the correct details.
If the access details supplied are correct the LedgerShare Connect data extraction process will begin and progress will be displayed on the screen. Depending on the size of your database and the number of entries it contains this process may take a few minutes. Once all data has been extracted the data is compressed, encrypted, and transmitted securely to the LedgerShare central server.
You can continue with other tasks whilst the extraction takes place.
Do not close the LedgerShare Connect window or interrupt the extraction process.
When the upload completes the success message is presented.
Click Close to exit LedgerShare Connect. At this point, there is nothing more to do. Your Engagement Manager or Client Manager will be notified by email that you have submitted a new upload.
Your uploaded data is now being queued for processing in the LedgerShare central system. You can switch off your desktop and disconnect from the network at this point if you wish.
You can view the progress of your upload in the LedgerShare Portal - You may need to refresh your browser. The status will change from Processing to Completed.
